Russian General Stanislav Petrov Found Dead in Apparent Suicide
General-pukovnik Stanislav Petrov, a founder of Russia's modern chemical defense forces, was found dead in his Moscow apartment on April 2nd. Preliminary reports suggest suicide, as a pistol was found near his body. Petrov was the last commander of the USSR's chemical defense forces.
