2 Week Wrap Up of Homeschoolers take on Public School

That is a wrap of the first 2 weeks. We had sickness, crush drama, Math troubles and missed Birthday but we all survived and they are ready to tackle more Public School. Here are some funny highlights from their adventure. My daughter enjoys writing love songs. She told me that it’s fun to write about real crushes because most of the ones she has written in the past have been made up. My son took a 3 day Math Assessment test. He was so happy because at the end of the test a “Good Job“ popped up on the computer. He thought this meant that most of the answers he guessed were correct. Here are a few things that I see as potential problems for our family if we continue on this path. Time: I feel robbed of the time I get to spend with the kids. Now there really isn’t enough time in the day. Influence: My husband and I are now not the only influence in their lives. Their teachers and friends influence them now and I’m not okay with that because I have never met them. Priorities: My husband and I work mostly evenings so we could spend all day with the kids. We have jobs that work around our kids’ schedules. But now it is completely messed up. My husband only sees his kids when he is dropping them off at school except Fridays on his day off. I work mostly on the weekend nights but now my husband wants me to take time off so our whole family can do things together. What it boils down to is our priorities are our children and now we are faced with the dilemma of figuring out another job situation so we can see our kids at night or hoping we go back homeschooling. I’m going to continue to write about our journey until we figure out what the end result will be. Thank you for reading and I hope you continue.
