Nymchat is a messaging client built on the Nostr protocol for pseudonymous and temporary communication, with Bitchat bridging support. Nostrord is a chat client for the Nostr protocol (NIP-29 groups), focused on messaging, group communication, and multi-platform chat experience. In v1.4.0, the release improves feature parity between web and native apps by aligning composer, uploads, replies, and quoted-event cards, adds in-chat message search across platforms, introduces a native desktop file picker, fixes notification routing through service workers and browser history handling, and ensures group messages are correctly routed through each groupās relay instead of the primary relay. Nostrame is a browser extension (NIP-07 signer tool) used to securely sign Nostr events from web applications without exposing private keys. Itās a signing utility that enables web apps to interact with Nostr. In v1.1.1, the release mainly fixes compatibility issues with nostr-tools v2 and improves Brave extension context handling to ensure more stable signing behavior across Chromium-based browsers. There was another release of the month, which is v1.1.2 (latest).

4. Nostr VPN - v4.0.70
Nostr VPN is a Tailscale-style private mesh VPN using a FIPS-backed data plane for secure peer-to-peer networking. In v4.0.70, the release updates FIPS components (fips-core 0.3.52 and fips-endpoint 0.3.28), improves performance testing and CI validation under heavy encryption and TCP load, strengthens throughput and latency checks with better queue-pressure simulation and recovery validation, and fixes a major issue where sustained bulk traffic could starve handshake and control packets, along with a macOS installer fix for resolving Cargo output paths correctly during binary swaps. This was the latest, and there were a lot more releases last week.

GRAIN is primarily a powerful relay and infrastructure platform for relay operators, while also providing a Go client library for developers building Nostr applications. This release focuses entirely on stability and memory-leak fixes, resolving several long-running relay issues including leaked authentication state tied to closed connections, background goroutines persisting after config reloads, upstream relay disconnect leaks, and unbounded backup-relay forwarding processes. The update introduces proper cleanup, bounded forwarding behavior, and improved connection lifecycle management to keep long-running relays stable and memory usage flat under heavy or prolonged operation.

Angor is a decentralized protocol (in alpha stage) built on Bitcoin and Nostr, used to enable peer-to-peer funding workflows rather than serving as a user-facing app or simple SDK. This Unstable Release adds early CLI and MCP server implementation planning, improves CLI tooling for testing workflows, introduces multi-user UAT funding test scenarios, fixes Lightning invoice network switching issues, improves wallet recovery and data-wipe behavior, and includes several stability fixes and UI/layout improvements while explicitly remaining in an experimental/unstable phase.
