Slot Miner - Why lottery mine when you can make your chances even worse?
Slot Miner
I’ve thought for a while that this would be fun to make. So I finally did! It’s also the first thing I’ve ever made using python, aside from programming ESP-32s poorly. I definitely got lots of LLM help and explaining, but my main takeaway is that python is easier than I thought it would be. It actually seems easier to me than javascript, but maybe that’s because I haven’t been that ambitious with it yet. Here’s the code if you’d like to look under the hood or build a slot miner at home.
If you just want to try it out without running at home, here’s the deal1: First things first, go to my online deployment.2 Then put in an address for your (currently) 1 in 2^76 chance you win. If you don’t want to go fetch an address right now, here is the donate address for Keonne Rodriguez2: bc1qtjjcvn98wh7dfd55m8kxhjcfexanttwt8gtan8
Then hit enter as many times as it takes to convince yourself that bitcoin mining makes for one damn secure network! I didn’t get a screenshot, but I actually got three zeros once!
When you’re done, hit (q) and then enter again.
