Lately I’m reflecting on the popular libertarian mantra: “Taxation is theft.” I’ve started thinking that taxes are not theft in the 21st century anymore, but a voluntarily chosen self-slavery to the government.

Why have I started to think that?

Because today we ALREADY HAVE all the tools to escape slavery!

Milton Friedman in the late 90s predicted that as the internet grows, people would create e-cash (digital cash), private by default, internet money, that the government will not be able to control, and that people will start exchanging freely, eliminating government control.

Milton Friedman was right! Very soon after his death (RIP Mr. Friedman 🙏), the first blockchain cryptocurrency - Bitcoin, was invented.

Bitcoin is the invention that opened a new era and a new type of property - true digital property, where every individual finally got the possibility to have property that is not guaranteed by the mafia of mafias - Big Daddy the government (which gives you the illusion that you own the property, no, you never truly owned it and never have, your government permitted you to have this property and can confiscate it any time if you are a bad enough slave). But now there exists a blockchain where property rights are guaranteed by math (cryptographically), and finally, there exists a tool to eliminate government domination over you at the level of money.

Now you can finally own property that the government cannot confiscate from you (if you aren’t goy enough) so you can send it to anyone freely, exchange it, and nobody can block your transaction (unless we are talking about the stables, which are often centralized crap).

But one thing is still missing, what makes you truly free from the government boots on your throat - the one thing Milton predicted would exist to free the people: private digital cash. The last word, “private,” is still yet to be realized…

Bitcoin was a successful prototype for something new, something that would have decentralized, PRIVATE digital property characteristics. It was created a few years later - Monero, the project that finally has all the points that were missing to be a tool to escape government slavery and finally start owning property that is hidden from others’ eyes. It is digital, and nobody will have any idea that you own something, nobody will know how much you own, and all of this is not guaranteed by any third player, but by cryptography and math.

You finally have internet private digital cash, you finally have decentralized network platforms such as Nostr, you have the e2e encrypted decentralized messenger SimpleX, we have I2P and Tor, we already have all the tools to cooperate, trade, exchange, communicate, and own your own illegal brand on the unkillable platform - Nostr. We HAVE everything to start living free! We have ghost guns, FOSS, money, mesh networks, communication, and platforms to finally be sovereign!

Today is the time when all the tools already exist to escape slavery. If you don’t use these tools and are still working like an obedient goy paying taxes to your daddy the state - no, he is not thieving your money anymore, you just voluntarily accepted this submissive position of slavery. YOU CAN escape, but instead, YOU prefer to continue living like a slave and keep the slavery status quo. It’s YOUR choice now to keep living like they do on Animal Farm in the role of a horse. It’s your choice, but instead of this, you keep picking that blue pill.
