How I build software Today
And with “today” I mean it literally: Feb 19, 2026
-
Yesterday evening in bed I was reviewing the last Nucube Music build and obviously writing down notes: small things, but all relevant from the user perspective. Eight short notes in total.
-
This morning while I was waiting for breakfast to arrive, I rewrote them in proper english, turned on Gemini CLI and told it: today we have a new game: take this list, acknowledge everything is clear enough and assign each task individually to Jules (another Gemini based Google toy, in Cloud). Both are connected to the project git repo.
-
Then I turned to Claude CLI: one of the tasks I believe required a more keen eye and some iteration: Claude is the one you call when something delicate and more complex has to be done.
-
I also assigned another refactoring task to Gemini CLI: I do not like it to stay idle while the Jules are at work
-
Yes, between 2 and 3 I had breakfast. Laptop closed
-
After a while me and the local boys where done with our work. It all happened simultaneously on my laptop on the same folder because my code structure is fantastic :)
-
The Jules were done so I told Gemini CLI to get all the tasks and review the PR and merge them or ask me if something did seem off.
Everything was smooth this time. Lucky us. I can leave the cafeteria now.
Yes I wrote this in real time while doing it.
The only thing that went wrong is that I have to write this twice: YakiHonne lost my “draft” :(
