Genesis 1:26 – Let Us Make Mankind

Genesis 1:26 is not about domination. It’s about identity and stewardship. “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness.” Not an accident. Not random. Deliberate creation. Humanity was made to reflect God’s nature — spiritually, creatively, relationally, and responsibly. The system benefits when people forget this. Because people who know they carry divine image stop begging for permission to exist. They stop bowing to false authority and start recognizing their value and responsibility. “To rule over” was never a license for tyranny. It was stewardship. Caretaking. Representing the Creator well. Psalm 82:6 echoes the reminder: “You are gods; children of the Most High.” Not meaning you are God, but that you are image-bearers meant to reflect Him. The pattern is clear: You were created with intention. You carry image. And image-bearers are called to act with responsibility, discernment, and care. Test everything. Even your own image-bearing. That’s the decoding. That’s the pattern. 🔥
Genesis 1:26 – Let Us Make Mankind

Genesis 1:26 – “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’”

Let us make mankind

Not “let there be.” Let us make. Deliberate. Intentional. Council. The plural is not multiple gods. It is the fullness of God. Father, Spirit, Word. All present. All involved.

You were not an afterthought. You were not a byproduct. You were a deliberate creation of the full council of God.

In our image, in our likeness

Not just “made by God.” Made like God. Image. Likeness. Not physically. Spiritually. Relationally. Creatively. You carry something of the divine in you.

The system wants you to forget this. Because a person who knows they are made in God’s image does not bow to false authority. Does not comply with systems that crush. Does not beg for permission to exist.

Psalm 82:6 – “You are gods; children of the Most High.” Not a metaphor. A reminder.

So that they may rule over

Not “so that they may dominate and destroy.” Rule as stewards. Rule as caretakers. Rule as those who answer to the One whose image they bear.

The system teaches domination. Exploitation. Use and discard. But the pattern is stewardship. Care. Responsibility.

You are not the owner. You are the image-bearer. And image-bearers represent the original.

The Decoding

You are not an accident. You are not a cosmic mistake. You are made in the image of God. Not because you earned it. Because you were created that way.

The system needs you to forget this. Because a person who knows who they are does not comply. Does not bow. Does not beg.

So remember. Not in arrogance. In truth.

You carry the image. Act like it.

That’s verse 26. That’s the pattern. That’s the door.

A prayer card comes with this: image![image] A critical reminder:

This does not mean you are God. It means you bear His image. Image-bearers represent. They do not replace.

And this does not excuse abuse. Being made in God’s image is not a license to harm. Stewardship is not domination. Rule is not tyranny.

Test everything. Even your own image-bearing.

If this helps, zap. Ask questions. Share with someone who forgot who they are.

The door is open. 🔥
