I just realized my favorite memecoin might not exist in an ideal world
There are Bitcoiners out there asking to be paid in Bitcoin at their jobs. As a doggie coin user, I’m so far ahead, you can’t even see me.
On the other hand, most people only get whatever buying power is left over after the feudal lords are done tallying bananas.
I wish we had a world where everyone would ask employers for locked-in amounts of Bitcoin, silver, and gold. Then, a job paid in doggie coin would be about as odd as the rare Bitcoiner today asking for Bitcoin.
Except I guess, if everyone adopted hard money at full speed, then dogecoin wouldn’t exist in its current form. Its creators would have been busy adopting Bitcoin, instead of making a dysfunctional memecoin parody. Therefore, Charlie Lee probably would have been continuing his own work with Litecoin and stuff, instead of fixing the dog meme.
So maybe I’d be a Monero purist, or possibly a litecoiner or something, I guess?
Vitor Pamplona has also been pretty clear it’s his fault it’s not in F-Droid, not F-Droid being shadowy (though he still probably blames them because he’s kinda dumb)

i’ve heard not even amethyst is on f-droid, their policies are weird. and there are in fact instructions to reproduce the cake wallet build in their repo, anyone could do it

That’s cool. Unfortunately it looks like cake wallet’s main offerings are currently closed source, so I can’t recommend (plus they lie about these apps being open source, making it even worse)

I’ve also heard reports of Cake Wallet being hacked in the past, and I saw @Jim Smij having issues with an incoming transaction on #asknostr the other day with that wallet iirc

idk if you’re aware or care at all but cake wallet added support for dogecoin in their last update
