A year after a Russian general was assassinated in a car bombing outside Moscow, another general is reportedly dead in the same city — in another car bombing Damir Davydov, head of Russia’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate, was reportedly killed in a car bomb attack in Balashikha, near Moscow. This incident bears a striking resemblance to the assassination of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik in the same city in April 2025. Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into Davydov’s death.
