0:00 Well, new at five, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is suing a podcast called Mormon Stories. In the lawsuit, the church claims the podcast logo uses a similar color and font to the church’s logos, which the church claims confuses people, making them think Mormon Stories is associated with the church. The lawsuit says the church asked Mormon Stories to include a statement at the beginning of the podcast saying it isn’t associated with the church, but the podcast creators wouldn’t do what they claim. It also claims the podcast is using copyrighted pictures like of temples to advertise episodes. The lawsuit says it isn’t asking for any change in content, but it does want the podcast to stop using a logo that’s similar to the church’s trademarks. And in response to that, the podcast says this. We feel very confident in our standing in the case.
0:49 We also feel as though the church is mischaracterizing what happened in mediation in a way that is misleading, untrue, and damaging. Now, the story is still developing. We’ll keep you updated as the lawsuit moves forward. \[music\] \[music\]
