This Easter, remember the cost of discipleship

For many people across the U.S., Easter Sunday means pastel-colored clothes, jelly beans, Cadbury eggs, or marshmallow Peeps. But Easter is far more than a cultural tradition or seasonal celebration. It is a declaration that should actually shape the way we live and has the power to transform lives: He is risen! That truth, echoed by believers all around the world every Easter Sunday, is the foundation of a faith that calls us not to a life of comfort, but to a life of commitment. To follow Christ is not only to receive the hope of eternal life, but to carry that hope into the world around us.Too often, we treat Christianity as a system designed to make life easier, provide emotional reassurance, or help us get something from God. Scripture makes it clear, and believers throughout history have experienced, that true Christianity costs us something. It calls for surrender, obedience, and a willingness to follow Christ even when the path is difficult. It’s natural to gravitate toward a version of Christianity that prioritizes comfort over sacrificial living. But in truth, persecution and hardships are not only possible but an expected outcome for a life of wholehearted devotion to following Christ.Jesus Christ, our example, willingly left the comfort of heaven's glory to enter a broken world and dwell among us. He lived among the very people He created, walking dusty roads, experiencing hunger and fatigue, facing rejection and temptation, enduring suffering — all ultimately to make the Father known.Throughout His ministry, He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and performed miracles — yet He never wanted people to follow Him merely for those “simple” benefits.During Jesus’ ministry on earth, massive crowds followed Him simply for the possibility of free bread. They wanted miracles and meals. But He wanted them to look past all of that and see that the true gift was Himself. “I am the bread of life,” He told them. “Believe in me!”Only a few individuals would see past their own desires and take the step to say, “I believe, and I will follow you no matter what.” As a result, they would be forever changed and go on to change the world.RELATED: Where Easter really comes from Bernard Jaubert/UCG/Universal Images Group/Getty ImagesThis is the truth of the Christian life: Following Christ requires us to embrace discomfort, sacrifice, and even suffering. The Bible does not hide this reality, but Easter reframes that suffering in light of something greater. The cross is not the end of the story. On that first Easter morning, everything changed. Jesus’ resurrection was not only a victory over death, but a promise that suffering does not have the final word. Sin, brokenness, and the grave were defeated. Because of this, even while withstanding hardship, believers can live with an unshakable hope rooted in the promise of eternity. As we read in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.”And this hope is not meant to be kept to ourselves.Years ago, a friend of mine who was overseas asked a shop owner, “Excuse me, sir, do you know Jesus Christ?” The man turned around and said, “We’ve got Pepsi, we’ve got Coke, but we don’t have Jesus Christ.” He had never heard the name of Jesus, so he thought Jesus Christ was a new soft drink. As someone who grew up in different cultures, I’ve seen firsthand the harsh truth that many people around the world still haven’t heard the gospel. Here in Texas where I live now — in the heart of the Bible Belt — it can seem like there is a church on every corner. On the other hand, I have gone more than 300 miles in some countries without passing a single church. As ambassadors for Christ, we still have so much work to do.After all, even in places like Texas, we have neighbors, co-workers, and friends who may recognize the name of Jesus but do not really understand what His death and resurrection are all about. For many, Easter remains a holiday without meaning, a tradition without truth. This is where the calling of every believer becomes both a responsibility and a privilege.RELATED: Easter changes everything: What the empty tomb means for you today Urupong/Getty ImagesTo follow Christ is not only to receive the hope of eternal life, but to carry that hope into the world around us. It is to reflect His love and choose to live so that others are drawn to the reality of who He is.That calling may be uncomfortable, to require us to step outside our routines, and even to risk rejection, but it is also one of the greatest privileges we are given: to bring light into a suffering world.Easter is a time to remember Christ’s sacrifice and His victory over sin, Satan, and death. He poured out His life so that we might partake of Him and be made like Him. That process requires obedience, faithfulness, and self-denial.But for all who trust Him and choose to live for Him as an act of worship, He will fill them with His presence. He will refresh, replenish, and empower us to bring His healing presence into the world around us.Editor’s note: This article was originally published by RealClearReligion and made available via RealClearWire.

Faith, 'divine journey,' and Trump will ensure unforgettable World Cup, island nation's soccer president says

The soccer president from the tiny island nation of Curaçao says divine intervention has brought his team to the World Cup and, in turn, to the United States and in front of President Trump. The executive's faith is also what has him confidently saying that everyone involved will lead with love, including the president. 'President Trump will make sure that this will be a World Cup that will not be [forgotten].' Gilbert Martina, president of the Curaçao Football Federation, humbly avoided bragging about his hard work that turned his nation's soccer program around. Instead, he credited a long but fruitful 'divine journey.' In an interview with Blaze News, Martina spoke in detail about his many run-ins with divine intervention, including his trip to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., in December. There, at the World Cup draw, he sat just a few yards away from Trump and came to believe that Trump will act with love and grace to make it the biggest World Cup in history. 'We are all spiritual beings, and we have to take care of each other, and we have to globalize love,' Martina passionately decreed. 'And football unites. That's the slogan of FIFA. So I'm sure all stakeholders and even President Trump will make sure that this will be a World Cup that will not be [forgotten], ever, because it's the biggest on this planet.' RELATED: Unpaid bill has Foxboro refusing to grant license for World Cup games at Gillette Stadium Your browser does not support the video tag. Divine intervention The former insurance director and CEO of a medical center attributed most of his accomplishments to his divine journey with spirituality and faith. This starts with daily gratefulness, prayer, and meditation before preparing for what is ahead, Martina said. Persistently pointing to this divine journey, he said he always believed his country would qualify for the World Cup. He offered no other explanation as to how such a small nation could unite in under a year for 'a greater purpose.' 'With the universe, with God, with the cosmos, whatever name we want to give it,' his team started 'co-creating beauty,' he explained. 'Then the magic happens.' Martina also said there were too many instances and overlapping themes to ignore. On the very day he got the job as president of Curaçao Football Federation in April 2025, he predicted to his wife that his team would make the World Cup. 'There is no coincidence,' Martina declared. RELATED: Seattle plans World Cup 'Pride match' — and two countries that prosecute gays will play in it ANGEL BATTA/AFP/Getty Images Putting in the work What the executive also explained — without giving himself the proper credit — was how he brought his country out of the Stone Age in terms of organization and formalities. Before his election as president of Curaçao's soccer federation, the tiny country of about 150,000 had a program that was in shambles. Hotels and travel were not organized, players were not paid on time, and soccer teams within the country were at odds. 'Too much distraction,' Martina said, expressing the stress of the job. 'There's so much things that we had to professionalize, and so that was the focus.' He continued, 'Because if they're not focused [on qualifying] ... you will have too much distraction.' After Martina became president, Curaçao went undefeated in eight matches (five wins, three ties) and qualified for the World Cup. There, the team will share Group E with Germany, the Ivory Coast, and Ecuador, with its first game against Germany on June 14. Message for others Martina compared his approach to life, and to a successful nation, with a hummingbird. 'A hummingbird isn't going to a garbage nest at KFC or Pizza Hut. A hummingbird always goes for the best nectar, the best flowers, because that's the best of the best,' he said, mirroring advice he gives in his book, 'Healthy Minds, Healthy Nation.' Martina insisted that people should strive for the best, whether it is in performance, organization, or even nutrition. 'That's a powerful message. ... When we are able to convert that into our daily life, purpose, and intention, beautiful things happen.' Like Blaze News? Radicals train for massive May Day protests at public schools, thanks to America's largest teachers' union

Defending Education, an advocacy organization that combats leftist indoctrination in K-12 public schools, recently obtained documents outlining the talking points and marching orders being fed to radicals ahead of leftist May Day protests planned across the country.Among the leftist outfits poised to train would-be protesters is the Midwest Academy, a liberal activist-grooming center that has reportedly received over $1.7 million in recent years from the National Education Association.'Congress should revoke the NEA’s federal charter.'The Midwest Academy, joined by the the NYU Metro Center and organizers from Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools member groups, is coordinating a four-week training series titled "Four Weeks of Power" with the purported aim of building "a broader, stronger base of parents, educators and students taking action to defend and transform public schools."Although organized by the NEA-backed outfit, sessions will be provided by the leftist organization Free the Future, part of the NEA-aligned Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools network.Free the Future will start off the sessions by providing "an introduction to community organizing in the context of the rising authoritarianism we’re seeing in real time." Free the Future will conclude the sessions by helping fellow travelers "better understand power mapping and targets, understanding which actions make sense for our team and community, and the logistics of planning a successful action."RELATED: Why Johnny still can’t read: The curriculum cartel doesn’t want reform Dominic Di Palermo/Chicago Tribune/Tribune News Service/Getty ImagesFree the Future is evidently keen to train up radicals with the NEA-backed group in time for mass protests on May 1. Free the Future has partnered with May Day Strong "to plan hundreds of actions in the streets" next month.May Day Strong's tool kit reveals that radicals are reskinning their No Kings protests for May Day.The tool kit recommends not only protesting outside lawmakers' offices and "one of the many corporate targets we need to take on," but that radicals stage "school walk-ins" and rally outside schools.Hilton Hotels, Chevron, Citgo, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car are the corporations targeted by May Day Strong. The organizers have furnished would-be protesters with a template press release that contains the following talking points:"Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first." "No ICE, NO War. No private army serving authoritarian power." "Expand democracy, not corporate rule. Defend free and fair elections."NEA's official May Day 2026 "Solidarity Toolkit," which is greatly similar to the May Day Strong tool kit right down to the advocacy for school walk-ins, states, "This May Day will be a day of rallies, marches, teach-ins, labor actions, and a refusal of business as usual — because when those at the top rig the system, collective action is how we set it right."According to NEA's tool kit, "walk-ins" seem to involve a school invasion:During school walk-ins, parents, educators, and students, along with neighbors and community leaders, gather in front of their school 30-45 minutes before the school day begins. We rally and listen to a few speakers discuss what they want for the school, and then we all walk into the school together. Walk-ins can be used to celebrate your school, collaborate with school officials, or protest harmful school conditions and policies.Rhyen Staley, director of research at Defending Education, said in a statement obtained by Blaze News, "This is yet another example of how activists and teachers' unions view schools as a tool to advance their political agenda.""It should be deeply concerning that one of the suggested tactics is to enter schools to protest against policies they don’t like," continued Staley. "Putting children's education and safety at risk for political gain is unethical and immoral."Corey DeAngelis, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation's Center for Education Policy, told Blaze News, "Congress should revoke the NEA’s federal charter or at least bar them from engaging in political activity altogether."DeAngelis noted further, "These radicals are providing free advertising for homeschooling, showing us exactly who they are, and parents need to pull their kids out of these institutions."Becky Pringle, the Democrat NEA president who reportedly made over $500,000 while fighting to keep schools closed at kids' expense between September 2020 and August 2021, made clear in her keynote address at last year's National Education Association convention that her union is committed to undermining the Trump administration."We must use our power to take action that leads, action that liberates, action that lasts," Pringle said in her speech. At the convention, the NEA adopted a resolution declaring its support for mass movements against the government, including No Kings protests and anti-ICE rallies. Foreign workers are replacing Americans — now it’s happening in medicine

For years, Daniel Horowitz has been sounding the alarm about the deliberate replacement of American workers with foreigners. From H-1B visas to the OPT program for foreign graduates, the conservative commentator has been exposing the policies that keep Americans — especially young graduates — barred from high-paying tech, software engineering, and other STEM jobs. Now the same pattern is hitting medicine. Right now, many highly qualified American medical graduates are losing residency spots to foreign medical graduates. On a recent episode of “Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz,” Horowitz and Houston ENT specialist Dr. Mary Talley Bowden dove into the startling statistics and offered a clear solution to the issue harming would-be American doctors. Horowitz bemoans the reality that taxpayer dollars via Medicare are going toward programs that won’t even guarantee American students a residency placement. “We’re basically funding our replacement,” he says.Dr. Bowden points to the shocking numbers from the residency match. “6,600 foreign medical students got residency spots, and meanwhile … over 1,300 U.S. medical students did not get a spot,” she says, arguing that Americans are “getting the leftovers at that point.”But it’s not just residencies — Americans are also being shut out of medical schools. “We are rejecting about 30,000 American students a year from medical school,” Dr. Bowden adds. The solution, she says, is straightforward: Fill residency spots with American graduates first, then offer any remaining positions to foreign graduates. “We could just say, ‘Hey, everybody in the U.S. has to match first, and then we can do a match for the foreign residents,’” she tells Horowitz, who strongly agrees.“No foreigner should be admitted into a medical school or residency program until every qualified American has a spot,” he says.To hear more, watch the full episode above.

Child reportedly arrested for murder after death of 12-year-old girl who protected her sister amid alleged bullying incident

A child reportedly has been arrested for murder in connection with the death of a 12-year-old girl who was protecting her sister amid an alleged bullying incident at a Los Angeles school. KCBS-TV said the Los Angeles Police Department did not provide many details about the individual arrested, stating only that the person is a minor arrested for murder. "The District takes the safety and well-being of our students very seriously. We are currently cooperating with law enforcement in connection with this incident."Police confirmed last month that a homicide investigation was under way following Khimberly’s death, KNBC said."This arrest is an important step toward accountability, but it does not change the bigger truth: this tragedy was entirely preventable," Glassman wrote in a statement, according to KCBS.Like Blaze News? He allegedly printed out a list of registered sex offenders nearby. When police arrived at the location, they found a black suitcase in tall grass emitting a strong odor and containing human remains.A second suitcase was found with additional remains, according to an affidavit.Police said they immediately suspected a 19-year-old named Lucas Sander Jones of Indialantic because they found an Amazon package addressed to him in one of the suitcases. Texas Democrat candidate toured for years with accordionist convicted for indecent conduct with a child

A Democrat candidate who is running to flip a U.S. House seat in Texas once toured with an accordionist who had been convicted for indecent conduct with a child.Bobby Pulido won two Latin Grammys as a Tejano music performer, but a New York Post report found that he performed many concerts with a child sex offender who also played the accordion.'Despite being caught on tape admitting he knew of this man's criminality and praising him as recently as November, Mr. Pulido now falsely claims to have been unaware of his crimes.'Frankie Caballero was sentenced to four years in prison for the second-degree felony with an 8-year-old girl in 2014.The Post documented that Pulido performed with Caballero at concerts in Kansas City, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Tucson, and other places between 2018 and 2021.In addition, the accordionist still identifies himself as the accordion player for Pulido on Facebook.Pulido's campaign manager, Abel Prado, told the Post that Pulido did not know about the child sex crime conviction. "Bobby was never made aware of Caballero's sex offender registration and would never knowingly associate with anyone with that kind of history," Prado said. "Bobby extends his deepest sympathies and support to all of the victims involved."The report also notes that the court records of the conviction in 2014 were not public because the victim was a minor, but the charge, sex registry status, and the sentence are all available on an official website for the Texas Dept. of Public Safety.Booking records at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's website indicate that Caballero was booked on four counts related to indecent sexual contact with a child.Pulido's Republican opponent, Rep. Monica De La Cruz (Texas), released a statement accusing the musician of being less than truthful about what he knew."My heart goes out to the children who were sexually abused by a close friend and professional associate of Bobby Pulido. For three decades, Mr. Pulido brought a child predator into our neighborhoods with multiple convictions for sexually abusing children in Hidalgo County, including an 8-year-old girl," reads the statement from De La Cruz."Despite being caught on tape admitting he knew of this man's criminality and praising him as recently as November, Mr. Pulido now falsely claims to have been unaware of his crimes," she added. "These are not South Texas values. As both a mother and a congresswoman, I want the families of these sexually abused children whose suffering Mr. Pulido ignored to know that I am here for you."She went on to ask the victims' families to contact her office for federal resources of support.RELATED: Democratic challenger in pivotal Texas election portrayed pervert who masturbates in public in music video Prado also said that Pulido learned about Caballero's criminal history in 2014 and immediately fired him.De La Cruz trounced her Democrat opponent in the 2024 election by more than 14 points. Cover image for 'Project Hail Mary' offers old-fashioned sci-fi wonder

'Project Hail Mary' offers old-fashioned sci-fi wonder

There is a particular pleasure in watching a film that understands its own premise so completely that it never needs to raise its voice. “Project Hail Mary” is that kind of film. It is about the end of the world, or rather the quiet prevention of it, and it proceeds not with spectacle but with curiosity. You lean in. It also shows that Hollywood can still make films that put storytelling first. Clarity is one of the rarest virtues in modern filmmaking, too often filled with giant robot explosions and woke speechifying. The story, based on Andy Weir's novel, follows Ryland Grace, played with a careful, disarming humanity by Ryan Gosling. He wakes alone on a spacecraft, far from Earth, with no memory of who he is or why he is there. The film reveals its answers slowly, trusting the audience to keep up. It is a confidence rarely seen in big studio science fiction, which tends to mistake noise for intelligence. Quiet wonder Grace is not a hero in the usual sense. He is a schoolteacher, a man more comfortable explaining than commanding. The film is built on problem-solving, on the steady accumulation of knowledge, on the small victories of understanding how things work. It recalls the best passages of Weir's “The Martian,” where survival depends on smart people overcoming impossible odds. What distinguishes “Project Hail Mary” from “The Martian” is companionship. Without giving too much away, Grace does not remain alone. The relationship that develops is one of the most unusual and affecting in recent science fiction. It is built not on corny sentiment but on shared necessity. Two radically different minds find a way to communicate. The scenes have a kind of quiet wonder that science fiction used to trade in more often, before it became preoccupied with destruction. It’s not really a spoiler because it’s in the trailer, but Grace befriends a spider-like rock alien who is also trying to save his planet. They must learn to communicate and work together. Hail competence Gosling understands the tone. He avoids the temptation to play the material for easy laughs or grand emotion. Instead, he lets the humor arise from confusion and discovery. There are moments of genuine comedy, but they grow out of character rather than being cheap jokes. You believe him as a man who is scared, then curious, then determined. The direction, handled with precision and restraint by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, resists the urge to turn every crisis into a set piece. Space here is not a battlefield; it’s a problem to be solved. The visuals are clean and intelligible. You always know where you are, what is happening, and why it matters. This may sound like faint praise, but it is not. Clarity is one of the rarest virtues in modern filmmaking, too often filled with giant robot explosions and woke speechifying. There is also an undercurrent in the film that feels old-fashioned. It takes seriously the idea that competence is a moral good. That cooperation, even across impossible boundaries, is preferable to conflict. These are not fashionable ideas, but the film does not argue for them. It simply demonstrates them. If the film has a weakness, it lies in its structure. The gradual revelation of Grace’s past, while effective, occasionally interrupts the forward motion of the central story. Some of the Earthbound sequences feel less vivid than the material in space. They serve the plot, but they lack the same sense of discovery. RELATED: Commentary: 'Barbie' is for the boys Tristan Fewings/Getty Images Rare success Still, the film succeeds where it matters most. It creates a world, poses a question, and then answers it honestly. It respects its audience. It believes that people will follow an idea if it is presented clearly enough. I left the theater thinking not about explosions or villains, but about communication. About the fragile, stubborn act of trying to understand something that does not speak your language. That is a rare thing for a film to leave you with. It is rarer still for a film of this scale to have a competent, straight white male who is the hero and isn’t lectured about leftist ideology. What a novel idea. And the fact that this movie has been a runaway success at the box office and with audiences proves there’s been a longing for movies like this. “Project Hail Mary” is not loud. It does not need to be. It knows what it is about, and it trusts that to be enough. In the end, saving the world with heroism and smarts will resonate more than bloated CGI.

Glenn Beck in SHOCK over UK's dystopian 'blasphemy laws'

Concerns about free speech in the United Kingdom are growing as new laws surrounding speech, public protest, and religious criticism threaten to change the future of civil liberties — and activist Tommy Robinson, who has been on the wrong side of these laws already — is prepared to fight back. “Their problem always has been that I always speak facts,” Robinson tells Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck on “The Glenn Beck Program.” While there are strict laws against “incitement to hatred,” which Robinson has often been accused of, he points out that he’s just telling the truth. “That’s what this law they’re now bringing in is about. They don’t want the public to be aware of facts or truth if you speak the truth about Islam. They want to limit what you can say, and that’s now what their new law intends to do,” he explains. And Robinson doesn’t plan to stop speaking out about Islam anytime soon. “This law won’t change anything I say. So if I’m honest, I will continue. I won’t limit my speech if I’m telling the truth. If that means I’ll end up in prosecutions, it means I will end up in prosecutions,” Robinson tells Glenn. “Most of these laws are about instilling fear,” he continues, noting that the Labour government also intends to remove the jury service. “What does that mean?” Glenn asks. “You can be taken to court in the U.K., and if they drop it to a low charge, you do not get a jury,” Robinson explains. “And that means they can only give you ... 12 or 24 months,” he continues, noting that they’re now changing that. “They’re changing it so you can get four years,” he says. “So not only are they bringing in a law that prohibits you from telling the truth, they’re also ... taking away your ability to be tried by 12 members of the public. You’ll just be tried by a judge,” he explains. Robinson’s last prison sentence, he tells Glenn, was 18 months in jail for making a film called “Silence.” “That film was 100% factual. No one has argued with any of the facts I’ve presented in that film, or the judge didn’t have a problem with the facts I presented in the film. Just the fact that I showed the public the film,” he says. “If I was able to have a jury to let the jury decide, I believe I’d never have gone to jail once. But I’ve never been given the opportunity to have a jury,” he adds. Want more from Glenn Beck? Bondi speaks out after ouster, still may have to testify before Congress

President Donald Trump politely kicked Pam Bondi to the curb on Thursday, touting her as a "Great American Patriot" and crediting her with "overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country" during her nearly 14 months on the job.Hours after Trump publicized the ouster and named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as the acting attorney general, Bondi took a page out of ex-Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's book, expressing her gratitude to the president and framing her time at the Justice Department in positive terms."Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history," Bondi wrote on X.'She must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files.'Bondi — criticized in recent months over her DOJ's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, her bizarre Epstein testimony, her suggestion that "hate speech" should be policed, and her perceived inefficacy and failure to prosecute the individuals who waged potentially illegal lawfare against Trump — echoed Trump's remark about the precipitous drop in crime over the past year.A report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association comparing crime stats in 2025 to stats from the previous year found that homicides dropped nationally by 19.3%; rapes dropped by nearly 9%; robberies dropped by 19.8%; and aggravated assault dropped by 9.7%.RELATED: If the Justice Department won’t execute Trump’s orders, who’s in charge? She must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files and the special treatment she has given Ghislaine Maxwell."The top Democrat on the committee, Rep. Robert Garcia (Calif.), tweeted, "Pam Bondi and Donald Trump may think her firing gets her out of testifying to the Oversight Committee. They are wrong — and we look forward to hearing from her under oath."Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) wrote, "My subpoena still stands. When the Oversight Committee moved to subpoena Bondi, I did it by name, not by or not as the sitting Attorney General of the U.S."Around the time the subpoena was issued, Mace stated, "AG Bondi claims the DOJ has released all of the Epstein files. The record is clear: they have not. The Epstein case is one of the greatest cover-ups in American history. His global sex trafficking network is larger than what is being revealed. Three million documents have been released, and we still don't have the full truth. Videos are missing. Audio is missing. Logs are missing. There are millions more documents out there. We want to know why the DOJ is more focused on shielding the powerful than delivering justice."Citing people familiar with the discussions between Bondi and the committee, the New York Times reported that Bondi has not yet committed to appearing for her scheduled April 14 deposition.Todd Blanche said in a statement that Bondi "led this Department with strength and conviction" and that the DOJ will "continue backing the blue, enforcing the law, and doing everything in our power to keep America safe."Like Blaze News? An Alabama news anchor drew fierce backlash after she quoted the founder of a designated terrorist organization during her on-air sign-off.During a Thursday evening broadcast on Birmingham's ABC 33/40, WBMA-LD, Ashonti Ford, 38, told viewers, "Before we go, a quote from the founder of the Islamic Brotherhood: 'The quieter you become, the more you're able to hear.'"'The intent of our closing segment is always to end the newscast on a positive and thoughtful note.'Ford was quoting the late Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna.Sen. "The quote included that evening was not intended to convey any political or ideological message.""However, we understand it was perceived that way and on behalf of the station, I sincerely apologize to those who were offended," Cox added. He asserted that Ford had no role in selecting the quote and stated that the matter was addressed internally."Although this quote was read by Ashonti Ford, Ashonti had nothing to do with the selection," Cox continued. Bondi is OUT — and Trump already has a replacement in mind

President Donald Trump has officially fired Pam Bondi from her post as attorney general, and another administration official is expected to replace her.Several reports indicated that Bondi's firing was imminent after months of prolonged scrutiny, particularly over her mishandling of the Epstein files, which quickly became an Achilles' heel for the administration. An administration official told Blaze News that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is Trump's top pick to replace Bondi after the two met and discussed the role on Tuesday.'We love Pam.'Bondi is expected to become the second Cabinet official to leave the administration, following the departure of former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem."Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year," Trump announced in a Truth Social post. "Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900."RELATED: 'Catching you red-handed!' Massie gets sassy with Bondi over Epstein redactions Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images"We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General," Trump added. "Thank you for your attention to this matter!"Tensions over the attorney general's performance reached a fever pitch after Bondi apparently failed to adequately comply with the law, which Trump himself signed, requiring the release of all Epstein files, prompting calls for her removal.RELATED: Trump makes big appearance in Epstein files — just not the way Democrats may have hoped Win McNamee/Getty ImagesCritics noted that the release of these files was repeatedly delayed and that the files had been at times improperly redacted to protect potential co-conspirators while revealing the identity of alleged victims. In a heated House Oversight hearing back in February, Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (Ky.) ripped into Bondi over the Epstein files rollout, saying it was "literally the worst thing you could do to the survivors."During this hearing, Bondi also attempted to argue that the Epstein files were just another Democrat ploy to distract from Trump's accomplishments, infamously noting that the Dow Jones had surpassed 50,000 points.Like Blaze News? Cover image for At its core, the abortion debate is very simple

At its core, the abortion debate is very simple

For decades, the abortion debate has revolved around a single question: When does life begin? Scientists are asked to answer it. Legislators argue over it. Courts try to define it. Activists debate heartbeats, brain waves, viability, and development. But while this question is important, it is not the most important question. The real question is what gives human life value. The abortion debate will never be settled by science, politics, or emotional arguments. It is ultimately about where human value comes from.If human life has no intrinsic value, then it does not really matter when life begins. And if human life does have intrinsic value, then the moment a human life exists, it must be protected. The entire issue hinges not on biology, but on value.Biology shows life, not valueModern science has made one fact undeniable: from the moment of conception, a new human organism exists. This is basic embryology. A distinct human life begins at fertilization with its own DNA, its own development, and its own biological trajectory.Science is very good at describing life. It can measure heartbeats, detect brain activity, and observe development in remarkable detail. But science has a limitation: It can describe life, but it cannot assign value to it.A microscope cannot tell us that murder is wrong. DNA cannot tell us that humans have rights. A heartbeat cannot tell us that a life is sacred.Science describes what is. It cannot tell us what ought to be. Value, morality, and justice must come from somewhere else. The image of GodThe Bible answers the value question in the very first chapter. Genesis 1:27 says that God created man in His own image. This is one of the most important statements in all of Scripture, because it explains why human life has value at all.Human beings are not valuable because they are intelligent, strong, independent, or useful. Human beings are valuable because they are made in the image of God.This is not poetry. It is ontology — a statement about what man is. The image of God is the foundation of human dignity, human rights, and justice itself. Remove the image of God, and there is no objective reason why humans should be treated differently from animals. Rights become preferences, and justice becomes power. The image of God is what makes human life sacred.RELATED: We must resist a culture that redefines death as dignity Mininyx Doodle/Getty ImagesValue comes from what something isOne of the great errors of modern thinking is the idea that human value comes from ability or development. Our culture often assigns value based on intelligence, awareness, or productivity. But abilities exist on a spectrum. Some humans are more intelligent than others. Some are stronger than others. Some are more developed than others. If value comes from ability, then human rights belong only to the strong, the intelligent, and the capable. But justice requires something far more stable than ability. Justice requires that human value be tied to what a human is, not what a human can do.And what is man? Man is the creature made in the image of God.The image of God does not grow over time. It is not earned by development. It is not granted by government. It does not appear at birth or increase with intelligence. It is inherent to what man is from the moment he exists. If a human exists, the image of God existsOnce we understand that human value comes from the image of God, the abortion debate becomes much clearer. The question is no longer about heartbeats or brain waves or viability. It becomes much simpler: When does a human begin to exist? And the answer to that question is at conception. All things begin at their beginning. We do not say a tree begins halfway through its growth or that a river begins miles downstream. Things are defined by their beginning, not by later stages of development. From the moment a human exists, the image of God exists, human value exists, and justice demands protection for that human life. The issue is not development, location, or independence. The only issue is what the child is: a human being made in the image and likeness of God.RELATED: James Talarico found a verse — and twisted the meaning Danielle Villasana/Getty ImagesThe debate is about valueThis is why the abortion debate will never be settled by science, politics, or emotional arguments. It is ultimately about where human value comes from.If value comes from society, then society can decide who has value and who does not. If value comes from ability, then the strong will always rule over the weak. If value comes from preference, then power decides everything. But if value comes from God, then every human life — born or unborn, strong or weak, wanted or unwanted — has equal worth because every human bears the image of the Creator.Once we understand that human value comes from the image of God, the conclusion becomes unavoidable. To destroy that life is not merely to end a biological process — it is to destroy a human being who reflects the Creator Himself. The doctrine of the imago Dei does not allow for partial justice, developmental value, or conditional protection. The image of God demands that every human life be treated with equal justice from the moment that life begins.Because human value does not come from development, ability, or location. Human value comes from God.

The left is using tax dollars to indoctrinate your daughters

What if the radical feminism shaping your daughter’s identity isn't coming from culture but from a school “mental health” session? My organization, Courage Is a Habit, investigated and unveiled that the American School Counselor Association is promoting Lean In Girls, a program developed by the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, as a tier 2 intervention for girls as young as 11. They are grooming the next generation of activists to carry out a political agenda. We released a bombshell report showing that this program is marketed as confidence-building, but it introduces controversial ideas about identity, power, and gender under the umbrella of mental health, often in settings where parents may have limited visibility. Its connection to radical feminist Sheryl Sandberg, who has recently re-entered the cultural spotlight, raises broader questions about how these ideas are reaching students. At a minimum, this debate points to a simple question: When schools say “mental health,” what are children actually being taught — and do parents know? For decades, the school counselor’s office served as a sanctuary for student wellness and academic guidance. However, the ASCA continues peddling radical feminist curriculum into the lives of young girls in their most formative years. Silencing dissentSheryl Sandberg, the architect of this curriculum, brings a troubling record from her time as Meta’s chief operating officer. Under her leadership, the platform weaponized "fact-checking" systems to silence conservative voices and fuel and create a stifling, hypersensitive environment. This era of aggressive content moderation suppressed COVID skepticism and gender-critical opinions while hiding the Hunter Biden laptop story. Now that same culture, which Mark Zuckerberg later admitted "neutered" his company, has been repackaged as a mental health tool for young girls. The erasure of biological realityThe most alarming aspect of Lean In Girls is its assault on the definition of a "girl." The program openly invites biological males, described as "nonbinary teens who identify with the girlhood experience," to participate in these sessions.Facilitators are directed to use "gender-neutral language," avoiding the words "girls" or "guys" in favor of "folks" or "leaders." They are coached to swap "they/them" pronouns into scenarios and apologize if they make a mistake with a student's preferred name or pronouns. All of this is funded by taxpayer-backed school resources.Beyond gender ideology, the curriculum utilizes the divisive tactics of critical race theory. Facilitators are directed to rank themselves and their students on an intersectional "hierarchy of oppression." This exercise divides children by race, sexuality, and perceived victim status. Instead of teaching girls to lead with character, it teaches them to view every interaction through the lens of power and systemic bias.RELATED: Why do state schools bankroll people who despise the state? ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty ImagesBypassing the parentsASCA is positioning this program as a tier 2 intervention for students flagged as needing targeted behavioral or mental health support. This allows schools to target students for radicalization, often without explicit parental notification, under the fraudulent banner of wellness.By framing activism as mental health support, school districts are attempting to bypass parental rights protections affirmed in cases like Mahmoud v. Taylor. They are grooming the next generation of activists to carry out a political agenda, similar to the radical figures Sandberg’s previous platforms once protected from criticism.A call to actionThe "Lean In" philosophy has moved from the corporate boardroom to the middle school hallway, bringing the full weight of DEI compliance and radical gender ideology with it. Parents must realize that many school counselors have become activists in residence. It is time to demand transparency. Parents should take an active role in understanding what their children are being exposed to in school. Start by asking whether programs like Lean In Girls are being used and request access to the full curriculum. It’s also important to insist on clear, written confirmation that parental consent will be obtained before any child is placed in these types of groups. And if concerns remain, parents have the option to opt out, ensuring their daughters are not placed in programs that conflict with their values or understanding of identity. Our daughters deserve a future built on truth and genuine confidence, not a life of miserable marches, constant screaming, and insufferable activism.

15-month-old child died from ingesting meth through mother's breast milk, police say

A mother and father of a 15-month-old child who died have been arrested after an investigation determined the child died from ingesting methamphetamine.Pennsylvania state police responded to a call on Feb. 12, 2025, at the Mt. Pleasant Township residence of 34-year-old Michael Thomas Blaesser and 31-year-old Ashley Amber Makarsky.Another child at the home, who was 3 years old, tested positive for fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.Police found the unresponsive boy and transported him to the Independence Health Frick Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The living conditions at the residence were described as "beyond deplorable" by officers."There was no food in the house that we saw that was edible," Trooper Steve Limani said. "The temperatures were below freezing within the home. The only heat source for the house was a kerosene heater that emitted fumes that you could strongly smell ... along with fecal matter and garbage."There was no running water or electricity, the roof had holes in it, and the temperature inside was 28 degrees. A mattress appeared to have mold growing on it.Limani says the boy was likely exposed to methamphetamine through drinking the mother's toxic breast milk.An investigation discovered that the parents had a history of drug abuse and had been involved in two other cases where children where exposed to drug-laced breast milk, according to Limani. The three alleged incidents provided enough evidence for the parents to be charged with third-degree murder. They may also be charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.Another child at the home, who was 3 years old, tested positive for fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, according to police.RELATED: Arizona mother charged with child abuse after her 2-year-old daughter tests positive for fentanyl and methamphetamine "There is a pattern set forth about where a person should know and understand the consequences of taking illicit substances and then using your body to ... sustain life for your child — you're feeding it drugs and potentially going to kill your child," Limani said. "And that's what took place."The pair were each given a $1 million bond. An attorney for Makarsky said the mother is "gutted" by the accusations and said it was the first time she'd gotten into trouble as far as the attorney knew.A TribLIVE report said that court papers did not reference breast milk as the reason the child died."Those were the results of their horrific neglect and absolute disregard for trying to take care of a [child] that relied solely on these two individuals," Limani added.Like Blaze News? Trump announces Iran war is 'nearing completion'

President Donald Trump has announced that Operation Epic Fury is "nearing completion" as the military operation against Iran approaches its fifth week. During his address to the nation Wednesday night, Trump recapped the United States' progress in the region, aiming to reassure Americans that the conflict would soon draw to a close. Notably, Trump did not indicate whether the United States would put boots on the ground in the region. 'The hard part is done.'Trump reiterated the objectives of the operation, including destroying Iran's air force and navy, debilitating its missile capabilities, and preventing the country from developing nuclear weapons. "Tonight, I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion," Trump said. "As we celebrate this progress, we think especially of the 13 American warriors who have laid down their lives in this fight to prevent our children from ever having to face a nuclear Iran." RELATED: Trump says Iran asked for a ceasefire — but the US has one major condition Trump also echoed the updates he provided throughout the week, urging European allies burdened by the oil crisis to buy American oil and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz themselves. "The hard part is done, so it should be easy," Trump said. "And in any event, when this conflict is over, the strait will open up naturally." Although it is still unclear who in Iran the United States is negotiating with and the status of those negotiations, Trump said that he is on track to "get rid of a cancer that has long simmered." "It's known as the nuclear Iran," Trump said. "And they didn't know what was coming. They never imagined it." Like Blaze News? Former 'human rights' chief allegedly STOLE from George Floyd and homeless children charities in San Francisco

A woman tasked with the mission to defend human rights in San Francisco was stealing funds from a nonprofit for her personal enrichment, according to prosecutors.Sheryl Davis. 57, was charged with 17 felony counts that included conflict of interest in a government contract, perjury, and misappropriating public funds.Prosecutors said she misappropriated funds from a charity meant to benefit homeless children that received $3.5 million of city funds. Authorities were tipped off by a whistleblower to Davis' alleged illegal activities, according to a press release from San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. Davis was in charge of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars from the Dream Keeper Initiative but allegedly funneled the cash to companies where she could personally benefit. The program was meant to invest in the African-American community after the rioting over the death of George Floyd.Prosecutors said she misappropriated funds from a charity meant to benefit homeless children that received $3.5 million of city funds. The organization paid Davis' son about $140,000, which was "deposited into a bank account Ms. Davis jointly owned and controlled."Other numerous schemes were outlined by prosecutors in which Davis and 65-year-old James Spingola, a co-conspirator who ran a San Francisco nonprofit, allegedly misappropriated funds for their own benefit. Spingola was charged with four felony counts of aiding and abetting Davis' conflict of interest in four contracts with the city. Both Davis and Spingola were arrested on Monday and were booked into the San Francisco County Jail and given a $50,000 bond each. Davis was fired in 2024 after it was discovered that she was living with Spingola without disclosing the relationship with the grant recipient. She was also accused of misusing funds at that time. The job paid $350,000 a year when she was fired. RELATED: BLM activist named 'Bostonian of the Year' ordered to repay money she embezzled from taxpayers and nonprofit "These are not routine charges," Jenkins said. "But I want to be clear: These are allegations that will ultimately be proven or disproven in court." Prosecutors say Davis may face additional charges. The investigation into her alleged misconduct involved more than 50 search warrants and spanned over 18 months. "We have charged what we believe we had the evidence to prove," Jenkins added. Davis posted an odd message after the arrest on her social media account. "Where are my encouraging and supportive sisters?" she asked. Her attorney denied that she was guilty of any felonious conduct. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Armed Male Enters Florida Home, Refuses to Leave, Threatens Homeowner, Who Then Fires His Own Weapon

An armed male recently entered a Florida home and refused to leave — and then threatened the homeowner while advancing toward him, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office said. But the homeowner had a gun on hand — and used it. 'Stand your ground, baby!' The sheriff's office in a Tuesday news release said deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 5400 block of Touraine Drive around 9:40 p.m. Feb. 6 and discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. The incident occurred in Tallahassee. Detectives determined the male in question entered the home uninvited and refused to leave after the homeowner's repeated requests, officials said. What's more, the male then threatened the homeowner with a weapon while advancing toward him, officials said. With that, the homeowner used a semiautomatic handgun to fire a single shot at the male, which struck him, officials said. The male was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said. After an investigation, deputies identified and arrested 42-year-old Scott Scruggs on charges of burglary of a structure while armed and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, officials said. RELATED: Male breaks window of home after midnight. Homeowner warns him he has a gun — then uses it when intruder keeps advancing. Scott Scruggs. Image source: Leon County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office Scruggs remained hospitalized following the incident and was taken into custody upon his release from the hospital, officials said, adding that Scruggs is now behind bars in the Leon County Detention Facility. Jail records indicate there is no release date assigned to Scruggs; there is no bond for his burglary charge; his bond for his aggravated assault charge is $2,500. Jail records also note Scruggs has a long criminal history dating back to 2008 filled with charges that include battery, trespassing, criminal mischief, burglary, resisting arrest, theft, reckless driving, and drug possession. Commenters under the sheriff's office Facebook post about the incident seemed to approve of the homeowner's actions: 'Stand your ground, baby!' one commenter declared. 'Good job homeowner!!' another user exclaimed. 'FAFO,' another commenter stated. 'Sounds to me like he should have left,' another user noted. 'Good for the homeowner protecting their home.'
